This Week In Cards

This past week, as per usual, I spent my days off of work cramming in as much crafting time as possible. I ended up making a slew of cards:

I am so proud of these ones in particular, they turned out so well!  To give credit where credit is due, I got the design and technique idea from Jennifer McGuire–check out her versions Here.  It’s kind of hard to tell in the pictures here but they are ombré-shaded ink with a shimmer finish, and dry embossing on the finished paper. I made most of the word embellishments myself, by die-cutting the words then heat embossing them.

This one was probably my favorite of all of them! (Above)

I loved all of them, and can’t wait to make a bunch for giving away. Let me know in the comments below if you’d like more detailed instructions. Happy crafting!

The Season of Paper Hearts

I’ve been busy cutting and snipping away at Valentine’s Day cards, which is my first official card-making season since I finished school in December. I thought you might like to see a sample of what I’ve been spending all of my free time doing:

Do you like these? Any ideas of your own? I consider myself a novice, so I was so pleased with myself for having tried several new techniques. Please comment down below if you’d like me to share how I made any of these.

*Note to readers: These were all made in the weeks before the arrival of my Cricut, so these were mostly my own freestyling.

Welcome to the family!

My new mint machines! I’m so in love…

Just this past week, I welcomed a new machine into my craft life–the Cricut Explore Air 2, in mint green of course. It matches my cuttlebug so well!  As far as I’m concerned, crafting is so much easier when everything is matchy-matchy.

So many ideas and projects to get me started.  Happy crafting everyone!
