My First Flipbook

I recently made my first envelope flip book for a dear friend of mine in shades of purple, which is her favorite. I think it turned out really well!

I love the golden flower I glued to the front, and I chose to fasten it with twine.

I handmade the envelopes with my We R Memory Keepers 123 Punch Board so that I could use my own patterned paper for the envelope bases. I stuffed them all with ephemera and journal cards made using my Cricut and digital paper I found on Etsy, so that she could use them in her own scrapbooking projects (she especially likes journaling on her pages). I think it turned out pretty well, and I’m excited to make another one soon! I hope this inspires your own projects 🙂

Happy crafting, y’all!

Fancy-Pants Handwriting

A few weeks ago I became obsessed with the brush-lettering effect of calligraphy for use in my various projects. So, I tried it myself:

One of the things I’m most excited to be using this technique for is writing out my favorite quotes. Here, I practiced some that were on my mind (left). Then, I designed my very first quote page (top right), though actually I ended up liking the practice version more. Finally, I lettered some envelopes for cards I gave out this week, and was quite pleased by the results (bottom right).

I want to play more with using watercolor paints and actual brushes to letter, but it’s more of a challenge–I’ll have to practice a lot.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and happy crafting!
